The Feather is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, dedicated to caring for orphaned or injured avian wildlife. The Feather was founded in 1987, and licensed in 1991 by both the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. We are a small operation which cares for some 100 patients a year. Caring for wildlife requires the assistance of many people, from the rehabber, to the volunteers, to the veterinarians, to companies and members of the general public who support us with financial donations. Each person who finds their way to our door finds a special job waiting for them. Some of these people stay a short time, and some stay forever. What is important is that they cared enough
to spend time caring for wild things.
Without the computer intelligence of Tammie Schmidt this site would never have made the internet. Like all the projects at The Feather, each person does what they are best at, and Tammie is the computer wiz. She is also a long time friend, thanks Kid.
