2023 Formula 1 Holds Night Race in Las Vegas

FORMULA 1 announced that Las Vegas, United States, will enter the 2023 season racing calendar. The race will be held at night around the iconic buildings and corners of the glamorous city.

“This is an extraordinary moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the immense appeal and growth of our sport with the third race in the US,” said Formula 1 President Stefano Domenicali.

The race track that night passed through the Las Vegas Strip filled with luxury casino hotels and sparkling classic neon signs.

Las Vegas has previously hosted F1 twice. The last race was held in 1982.

For America, this addition brings the country to three grand prix series in addition to Miami and Austin.

“Las Vegas is a destination known worldwide for its excitement, hospitality, thrills and of course the famous Strip. There is no better place to race Formula 1 than in the global entertainment capital of the world,” added Domenicali.

The racing series in Vegas is planned to be held in November 2023. The track is 6.12 km long with 14 corners.

There will be 50 laps with the top speed of the race expected to reach 342 km/hour. (AFP/OL-13)
