3×3 SEA Games Basketball National Team Focuses on Building Chemistry

The Indonesian 3×3 basketball team for the Vietnam SEA Games has started their training camp (Pelatnas) at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta and immediately focused on building chemistry between players and teamwork.

There were eight players who were called up for the National Training. They are Kevin Moses Eliazer Poetiray, Nickson Damar Gosal, Dame Diagne, Mohammad Sandy Ibrahim Azis, Jamarr Andre Johnson, Surliyadin, Oki Wira Sanjaya, and Julian Alexandre Chalias.

3×3 national team manager Ferri Jufry revealed that the players are in good condition even though they have just finished the IBL 2022 regular season. That way, training at GBK is immediately focused on strengthening teamwork.

“The training program will place more emphasis on teamwork to build chemistry so that this team becomes solid and can achieve the results we want,” said Ferri in a PP Perbasi press release, quoted Thursday (14/4).

In an effort to build solid chemistry, the national team is scheduled to conduct a trial in the ABL 3×3 Tournament in Bali on April 16-17.

The championship is a test event that can be carried out before the Vietnam SEA Games.

At the Vietnam SEA Games later, the Indonesian 3×3 national team is targeted to at least be able to defend the silver medal won in the Philippines in 2019, but it is hoped that it can improve this record by winning the gold medal.

“At the Hanoi SEA Games, our target is to at least maintain the silver medal that at the last SEA Games in Manila we got it. But we will try our best to get better results,
namely the gold medal. We really believe that because the current players are ready to play,” said Ferry.

He said the appearance of the 3×3 national team at the 2021 SEA Games is also important as an illustration in facing future events, including the FIBA Asia Cup 3×3 in Singapore and the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. (Ant/OL-1)
