VICTORY won by Russia’s Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Indian Wells Open. The seventh seed managed to win over Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, Saturday (19/3) WIB.
This victory is the ninth time in a row for Rublev, including when he won the title in Dubai at the end of last February. In his action against Dimitrov, Rublev appeared impressive to record a 7-5 and 6-2 victory.
« I played very well, » Rublev said, quoted from the ATP, Saturday (19/3) WIB.
« From the start of the game, it’s more about who will be first, who will start leading the points, who will start dictating to play more aggressively. We both want to take our forehands and try to dictate, so only who will be first , » he said.

Rublev dropped just seven points on first serve in the game, winning 81% of points on his first serve. The Russian entered the quarter-finals without dropping a set in the tournament, and he is now closing in on his first ATP Masters 1000 trophy.
After defeating Dimitrov who was a semifinalist in last year’s edition, Rublev will next face the host’s representative who is the 20th seed Taylor Fritz.
On the way Fritz managed to win over Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic in three sets 7-5(7/5), 3-6 and 6-1. (ATP/OL-5)
