Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berretini underwent minor surgery on his hand following his withdrawal from the Miami Open on Wednesday (30/3) WIB.
The Italian world number six, who reached the semifinals of the year’s first major tournament in Melbourne, withdrew just before his opening match at the ATP 1000 level.
« My team and I have spoken to medical experts since my withdrawal from Miami with a right hand injury, » Berrettini said.

« After several scans and examinations, we decided minor surgery was the best solution to ensure a full and speedy recovery. »
The 25-year-old said the operation went ‘very well.’
« The doctor and my team have discussed my plans to return to the field. I will provide the latest information as soon as this plan is completed, » concluded Berrettini. (Ant/OL-1)
