Defeat Bencic, Osaka Advances to Miami Open Final


NAOMI Osaka burst into tears of joy after reaching the finals of the Miami Open for the first time in her career.

The Japanese tennis player experienced emotional ups and downs. After crying after being teased by the crowd during her loss at Indian Wells, this time, Osaka couldn’t stop smiling at the Miami Open.

4-6, 6-3 and 6-4 wins over Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic sent Osaka to the final, which will be played on Sunday (3/4) WIB.

When asked how he felt after the match, Osaka admitted that she was very hungry.

“Even though it’s not professional, right now, I’m looking for a way how to order Korean food to where I am because my location is outside the distance between Korean restaurants,” Osaka said with a smile.

“I really want to eat LA galbi, Korean seasoned rib eye meat. Regarding the match, I’m happy to win,” he continued.

In the final match, Osaka will face the winner of the match between world number one Iga Swiatek or American (US) Jessca Pegula. (AFP/OL-1)
