Norwegian eighth seed Casper Ruud reached his first ATP Masters 1000 tournament final after defeating Francisco Cerundolo in the semifinals of the Miami Open Friday (1/4).
It was Ruud’s fourth appearance in the semifinals of a Masters tournament but the first he has won.
The 23-year-old beat Cerundolo, who made his Masters debut, 6-4, 6-1.

In the final, Ruud will face the winner of the match between Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and defending champion Hubert Hurkacz.
“This win means a lot to me,” said Ruud.
“Getting to the final of the Masters tournament is my target. My service was very helpful in the match against Francisco. I’m happy to be able to advance to the final round,” he continued. (AFP/OL-1)
