Indonesian men’s doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto managed to win in the inaugural match of the Korea Open 2022. Faced with the host representatives Gwang Min Na/Jin Seong Noh, Fajar/Rian won in straight sets 21-16 and 21-12, Tuesday ( 5/4) local time.
This is the sixth consecutive win for Fajar/Rian, where they are unbeaten since winning the 2022 Swiss Open title at the end of March.
Advancing to the second round of the 2022 Korea Open, Fajar/Rian will next face the winner between the co-hosts Hwi Tae Kim/Jin Seong Noh or the Malaysian pair Tan Kian Meng/Tan Wee Kiong.

Whoever the opposing pair will challenge Fajar/Rian in the second round, be it Hwi Tae Kim/Jin Seong Noh or Tan Kian Meng/Tan Wee Kiong, later it will be their first fight.
On paper, of course, Fajar / Rian are far more superior to win, where they are ranked above their opponent, which is ranked 9th in the world.
In addition, Fajar/Rian, who successfully won the 2019 Korean Open and won the 2022 Swiss Open, certainly became an encouragement for Fajar/Rian to win.
On the other side, the All England 2022 champion pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana advanced to the second round without a sweat, after getting a walkover win from eighth seeds Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baekcheol (South Korea).
This result also opens the opportunity for an All Indonesia meeting in the second round, in which Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan have the opportunity to face Fikri/Bagas, if they can win from the Indian pair Krishna Prasad Garaga/Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala. (Rif/OL-09)
