Hamilton worried about Mercedes speed in pre-season test


Lewis Hamilton admits Mercedes has a lot of homework ahead of the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix, after undergoing pre-season tests at the Sakhir Circuit on Saturday (12/3).

“I think everyone can see it, we are not the fastest at the moment,” said Hamilton.

“I think Ferrari is the fastest, followed by Red Bull, then we or McLaren,” he continued

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen posted the fastest time on the final day of pre-season with a time of 1 minute and 31.720 seconds.

Mick Schumacher, who was allowed to race later than the other drivers due to his Haas car arriving late to the circuit, set the second fastest time.

Next was Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, then Alpine’s Fernando Alonso, followed by new Mercedes driver George Russell. Meanwhile, Hamilton recorded a time of 17, four seconds adrift. (AFP/OL-1)
