Hockey National Team Keeps Top Five Hopes in AHF Cup

The Indonesian national hockey team suffered two crushing defeats from Bangladesh and Oman in the 2022 Men’s AHF Cup at GBK, Senayan, Jakarta. Even so, the national team will still try to give results in the next match against Iran in order to target the top five.

“We are still competing once again with Iran, coincidentally we lost twice to Bangladesh and then to Oman,” said General Chairperson of the Indonesian Hockey Federation (PP FHI) Budi Sulistijono in Jakarta, Tuesday (15/3).

In the Men’s AHF Cup event which is currently taking place at GBK Senayan, Jakarta, the Indonesian national team suffered a major defeat in the first match against Bangladesh 2-7.

The victory was then won by the national team when they met Singapore 3-2 in the second match. However, in the third match on Monday (14/3), the national team lost 1-9 to Oman. In the next match, Indonesia will meet Iran.

“History has proven that we can beat Singapore and the top five target, I think we can still catch up,” Budi added.
