In order to qualify for the Grand Final, Gresik Petrokimia Aims for Victory


The Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia women’s team is eyeing victory from Jakarta Pertamina Fastron in the final four series two of PLN Mobile Proliga 2022.

The match was held at the Candradimuka Crater GOR Padepokan Volleyball General Police Kunarto, Sentul, Bogor, on Friday (18/3). For Gresik Petrokimia, victory is important, in order to qualify for the grand final.

Currently, Gresik Petrokimia is in first place in the standings, with four points from one win and one loss in two matches. The match against Jakarta Pertamina is the final match in the final four.

“Children inevitably have to play all-out against Pertamina to qualify for the grand final. We have to win,” concluded Gresik Petrokimia coach Ayub Hidayat, Wednesday (16/3).

“Because this is the last chance to advance to the grand final. There is no other way we have to win. Whatever the score is,” he added.

The players were asked to focus and be patient in facing Jakarta Pertamina. From the squad side, Gresik will not be strengthened by its main setter, Khalisa Azilia Rahma, who suffered an injury to his little finger when he faced Jakarta Mandiri Popsivo Polwan on Saturday (12/3).

Pertamina Jakarta manager Widi Triyoso said his team was also aiming for victory, and was ready to face Pertamina’s Gresik. His team had forgotten the defeat to Jakarta Mandiri on Sunday (13/3) last week.

Jakarta Pertamina still has two matches left. In addition to facing Gresik Petrokimia, the team will also meet Bandung Bank bjb Tandamata. “If you play like an exercise, I am optimistic that the children will be able to win, God willing,” said Widi. (OL-11)
