Jakarta Motor Parade Promotes MotoGP 2022 Mandalika

Ahead of the 2022 MotoGP event at the Mandalika circuit, there are a number of series to enliven the international race for the first time in Indonesia.

One of the 2022 MotoGP races is a motorcycle parade that will take place in Jakarta, from the Presidential Palace to the Kempinski Hotel.

A total of 20 representative motorbikes from the MotoGP, Moto2 and IATC classes crossed the streets of the capital. In addition, there are 60 representative motorcycles from motorcycle manufacturers in Indonesia such as Yamaha, Honda and so on.

The event which took place from 10.00 to 11.00 WIB, got the enthusiasm of the public to see up close the professional MotoGP racers, such as Marc Marquez, Joan Mir and so on.

The Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo has carried out security along the road that will be passed by the racers.

He also appealed to the public to be good hosts and not to interfere with the MotoGP parade which took place this morning in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/3).

« Yes, be a good host, obey the officers’ rules, don’t interfere with the MotoGP parade. Because this is seen by the whole international world, » said Sambodo.

« The first group consisted of 20 MotoGP riders, then the second group of 60 racers from manufacturers including Pertamina, then there was Group C behind it between 300-500 motorcycle communities in Jakarta, » continued Sambodo.

The MotoGP parade in Jakarta is a series of activities ahead of the Mandalika MotoGP which will take place this week. The MotoGP racers met President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace before the parade.

The Mandalika 2022 MotoGP race marks the end of Indonesia’s long wait to host the grand prix race. The last time Indonesia hosted a grand prix race was in 1997 when the race took place at the Sentul Circuit. (Far/OL-09)
