PRESIDENT Joko Widodo also celebrated the success of the Indonesian men’s doubles Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in winning the All England 2022 in Birmingham, England, Sunday (20/3).
Through the official Twitter account @jokowi, the President highlighted how Bagas/Fikri were able to achieve brilliant achievements even though they had just made their debut appearance in the oldest badminton championship in the world.

Tweets about Bagas/Fikri’s achievements complemented the President’s Sunday which was marked by many world sports activities.
Previously, Sunday (20/3) afternoon, the President had the opportunity to watch the Indonesian MotoGP Grand Prix at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, and hand over the championship trophy to the Red Bull KTM team racer from Portugal, Miguel Oliveira.
Bagas/Fikri have succeeded in continuing the tradition of Indonesian badminton which has dominated the All England men’s doubles by winning five times in the last decade.
In the final, Bagas/Fikri successfully beat their seniors Ahsan/Hendra 21-19 and 21-13 in a match that lasted only 37 minutes.
It marked the first All-Indonesian Final at the All England since the last time was in 2001 when Tony Gunawan/Halim Heryanto beat Sigit Budiarto/Candra Wijaya. (Ant/OL-1)
