Deputy Director of MGPA Cahyadi Wanda revealed that the results of the homologation of the Mandalika Circuit had appeared on Friday (18/3) afternoon. According to Cahyadi, the Mandalika Circuit passed the homologation and got grade A. Thus, the Mandalika Circuit is suitable for racing.
“The result passed homologation, grade A. The results came after the second free practice of Moto-GP,” said Cahyadi to Media Indonesia.
Cahyadi said, the results of homologation appeared without notes. But, because without notes, he also tried to ask one of the drivers, namely Maverick Vinales from Aprilia Racing.
“Maverick said the new asphalt is very good. The circuit is even better than during the pre-season test,” explained Cahyadi.
When asked about a complaint from the Moto-3 team that said the Mandalika Circuit was dirty, Cahyadi explained that the rain was the culprit.
“This morning it was raining and a storm. That caused the material from under the new asphalt to come out. Then they were the first to get a share to the circuit. If it didn’t rain on Saturday (19/3), it would be safe,” said Cahyadi. (OL-15)
