May Indonesia be the General Champion of the ASEAN Para Games, Happy Fighting


The Vice President (Vice President) of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Ma’aruf Amin, officially opened the 2022 ASEAN Para Games at the Manahan Stadium, Solo. The opening ceremony was also enlivened by the appearance of Javanese arts and culture.

This artistic and cultural performance managed to amaze the contingent from 11 countries, as well as all the spectators who were present to witness it firsthand. Uniquely, the contingent parade was also accompanied by Indonesian wayang characters.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo was also present, accompanied by his wife Siti Atiqoh. Ganjar also had the opportunity to perform with comedian Dodit Mulyanto and musician Endah Laras. They presented a comedy skit that successfully made the audience roar with laughter.

Then, they continued their performance by performing the song Bengawan Solo by maestro Gesang. Ganjar seemed to be beating drums, while Dodit Mulyanto and Endas Laras accompanied them with violins and kentrung.

“Good. The opening ceremony was very lively. The performances of our arts and culture, in my opinion, were good,” said Ganjar, yesterday.

The ASEAN Para Games 2022 event this time carries the theme Striving For Equality or Fight for Equality. The implementation starts today until August 6 by competing in 14 sports.

As the host, Indonesia sent the most athletes with 324 athletes, followed by Thailand 303 athletes, then Vietnam 119 athletes, Cambodia 112 athletes, Philippines 144 athletes, Malaysia 70 athletes, Myanmar 69 athletes, Singapore 37 athletes, Laos 37 athletes, Timor Leste 15 athletes , and Brunei Darussalam 13 athletes.

Ganjar hopes that the athletes will be able to give the best results for the nation and state. Thus, the overall title won by Indonesia at the ASEAN Para Games Malaysia 2017 can be maintained.

“Success is always for all who compete tomorrow, especially the Indonesian athletes, it’s extraordinary that the preparations have also been okay, hopefully we can win again this year,” said Ganjar. (OL-13)
