The IMPORTANCE of the athlete development process is the main focus of the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali in implementing Presidential Decree No. 86 of 2021 concerning the Great Design of National Sports (DBON).
Therefore, Menpora Amali strongly supports the 2022 BAPOPSI Sports Breeding Workshop and National Work Meeting which will be held at the Shangrila Hotel, Surabaya, Tuesday (15/3) night.
In his remarks, Menpora Amali said that the athlete development process was very important to support the implementation of DBON. Sports centers in the regions are the main capital in the process of nurturing athletes.
“We now have Presidential Decree No. 86 of DBON. For this workshop event, it is more on student sports and there is BAPOPSI. Because finding talented athletes must start at an early age,” said Menpora Amali.
“This event is an implementation of Presidential Decree No. 86 of 2021 concerning DBON so that it can run and be carried out in regional centers. Especially for East Java, we will focus on the center at the State University of Surabaya (Unesa), because there is a sports faculty and is supported by a sports science laboratory,” say
Menpora Amali also hopes that this year, student sports can be reactivated, which are considered to have the potential to give birth to new seeds for national athletes.
“Because of the pandemic for the past few years, student activities have stopped. Therefore, I hope that from this event we can resume student sports as coaching our athletes. All centers in the province must be in accordance with and in synergy with universities,” he hoped. (RO/OL-09)
