Nadal Advances to Indian Wells Finals

Spain’s Rafael Nadal has advanced to the final of the Indian Wells Masters after defeating fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz Garcia 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3, Sunday (20/3) WIB.

The victory over Alcaraz was to extend their unbeaten run in 2022 to 20 matches.

“I played well at the start, but it was very difficult to stop him with his incredible shots,” said Nadal.

In the final, Nadal will face American Taylir Friz, who is the first home player to reach the Indian Wells Masters final in a decade.

Fritz advanced to the final after breaking Andrey Rublev’s 13-match unbeaten streak with 7-5, 6-4 wins.

Fritz will be seeking to become the first US men’s tennis player to win at Indian Wells since Andre Agassi in 2001.

“Rafa (Rafael Nadal) is Rafa. He’s an extraordinary player. I have to play like I did today,” said Fritz.
