Suzuki Ecstar racer Alex Rins felt that overtaking was one of the most difficult things to do at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, NTB.
During the 2 days of free practice since Friday (18/3) and qualifying on Saturday (19/3) there are not many areas on the track that make it easy to overtake.
“There is only one line, when overtaking you must be close to other racers,” Rins explained when met after participating in qualifying.
Therefore, to be able to win in the race on Sunday (20/3), he must be able to get a good start and try to lead from the first corner.
Unfortunately Rins will start the race from eighth position and he feels it is not a good start to be able to take over the front position.

Meanwhile, Rins also explained about his motorbike which caught fire during the fourth free practice session. At that time there was a problem near the oil tank.
“I was warned at Turn 10. I thought there was a problem with the tires, I saw nothing. I continued to accelerate, but at the next corner I saw fire,” said Rins.
“What was going through my head was ‘Alex, jump!’ and I jumped off the bike and thankfully I wasn’t hurt,” Rins said.
Apart from that, Rins’ teammate Joan Mir also didn’t have a good day during the third and fourth free practice as well as in the qualifying session.
“We didn’t get a good bike setup. I always almost crashed at every corner, we had balance problems,” said Mir, who on Sunday will start from 18th position. (OL-7)
