PETRA Martic appeared calm to get rid of Emma Raducanu with a score of 6-7 (3), 6-4 and 7-5, Monday (14/3) WIB, to advance to the last 16 of the tennis tournament at Indian Wells.
Raducanu was outstanding in the first-set tiebreak by hitting a winner, but his energy and speed of serve waned in the second as he appeared to be struggling with his physical discomfort.
Martic took advantage of the situation to equalize.

The 11th seed, who is the US Open champion, then came back in the third set and held serve when leading at 5-4.
However, his Croatian opponent strengthened his defense to break the British teenager’s serve.
Raducanu unleashed a forehand that fell off the pitch on matchpoint to end a marathon two hours and 46 minutes.
“I’m happy that I stay calm when I’m not playing well,” Martic said in an interview on the pitch.
“I think this match was ups and downs for both sides. We’ve both gone through good and bad periods, so I’m happy I can let it all go and just focus on the next point,” he continued. (Ant/OL-1)
