Recovered from Covid-19, Vettel is ready to appear at the Australian GP

SEBASTIAN Vettel will return to the cockpit of his Aston Martin in the Formula 1 Australian GP Series next week. Previously, the German racer missed two races this season due to contracting Covid-19.

Vettel absent in the series opener, the Bahrain GP and the Saudi Arabian GP. In the two series, Vettal’s place was filled by another German racer, Nico Hulkenberg as a tandem with Lance Stroll.

“We are delighted to confirm Sebastian Vettel is now fit to race and will accompany @lance_stroll in Melbourne to kick off the @F1 2022 season,” the Aston Martin team said on Twitter.

Prior to contracting Covid-19, Vettel conducted a pre-season test in Bahrain revealing the challenges of driving an Aston Martin AMR22. “This car wants to be driven in a different way,” said Vettel, quoted by the official F1 website.

“I play with a different style of riding and what I can do. There is still a lot to improve… I think the challenge is fun and we believe that one day we will reach the peak,” added Vettel. (Ant/OL-15)
