Rise from adversity, Bulls Stop Celtics Positive Trend

AFTER suffering four consecutive defeats, the Chicago Bulls bounced back to claim victory in the 2022/2023 NBA continuation match.

Facing the top standings in the eastern region of the Boston Celtics on Tuesday (22/11) local time, the Bulls performed brilliantly to win 121-107. This victory at the same time led the Celtics to suffer their first defeat.

To be precise, after recording nine consecutive wins. Meanwhile for the Bulls, this is their seventh win from 17 matches that have been played.

DeMar DeRozan appeared as the top scorer for the Bulls in this match, with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Zach LaVine added 22 points and 5 rebounds.

Patrick Williams scored the most points of his career this season, namely 17 points. Then, Nikola Vucevic successfully recorded a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds for 35 minutes on the floor.

« It’s a big win. We lost a lot in a row and they won a lot in a row. I think we are a very compact team, » said LaVine.

LaVine said his squad appeared extraordinary in this match. This result also proves that the Bulls are still able to appear competitive, after recording 10 defeats throughout the 2022/2023 season.

« Today, we got off to a good start, we played well. Everyone has the worst night of their career, everyone in the NBA has had it, » he added.

On the Celtics side, Jayson Tatum performed well by recording a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Then, Jaylen Brown added 25 points and 7 rebounds.

Malcolm Brogdon also performed well in his 38 minutes on the floor scoring 23 points. However, this achievement has not been able to bring Celtic to win their tenth successive victory.

Tatum explained, his squad’s slow start was one of the reasons for the defeat. Especially with the Bulls appearing to press, making it increasingly difficult for the Celtics to provide resistance in the match.

« Slow start for whatever reason. We should have known we were a little bit better than them in the last few games, » concluded Tatum.

Even though Celtic had to swallow defeat, the two NBA champions last season were still firmly at the top of the eastern region standings, with a record of 13 wins and 4 losses. (ESPN/OL-11)
