The Executive Board of the Indonesian Cycling Association (PB ISSI) is preparing seven BMX athletes to take part in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, which is scheduled to take place on September 10-25.
From the men’s sector, there are I Gusti Bagus Saputra, Fasya Ahsana Rifki, and Yussi Wakhidur Rizal. As for the girls, there are Amellya Nur Sifa and Jasmine Azzahra Setyobudi.
In addition to the five athletes, PB ISSI has also prepared two other names using an independent budget, namely Muhammad Alfauzan and Aditya Fajar Putu Soekarno.

The seven athletes continue to boost preparations for the biggest sporting event in Asia.
Indonesian BMX National Team coach Ari Kristanto said he had prepared a series of programs so that all athletes were in the best condition when they were in Hangzhou.
Ari said the new athletes joined for less than a month. Then they got a challenge by directly participating in the 2022 BMX National Championship (Kejurnas) at the Jakarta International BMX, Pulomas, Jakarta, Saturday (26/3).
In the event, Fasya Ahsana won brilliant results by bringing home two championship titles in the Men Elite and U-23 categories respectively.
Likewise with Sifa, who won the Women’s U-23 number.
Even so, said Ari, all athletes still need improvement, especially regarding their physical condition.
“From a physical point of view, they are still far away. In addition, they also need a lot of try-ins and try-outs to build skills and continue to hone their competitive abilities,” said Ari when met at the PB ISSI Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (30/3).
In order to sharpen the flying hours of the athletes, PB ISSI’s Deputy for Development and Achievement, Gia Amalia, said that he plans to send athletes to various championships in Europe in preparation for the Hangzhou Asian Games.
“There are five events that we plan to participate in by Indonesian athletes, including the European Cup, World Cup and World Championship,” said Gia.
At the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, BMX Indonesia won one silver and one bronze. Silver was donated by I Gusti Bagus Saputra from the men’s sector, while Wiji Lestari won bronze in the women’s sector. (Ant/OL-1)
