This is not the time for accidents

Unsatisfactory RESULTS were achieved by two Respsol Team racers on the first day of practice for the Indonesian MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, Friday (18/3). Marc Marquez, who had an accident in the second practice session, only finished 22nd while Pol Espargaro was in 19th position.

“I felt better before the accident. Now we’ll see tomorrow,” explained Marquez.

“Overall I am happy with today’s performance but this is not the time to have an accident. We are not happy after failing to enter the top 10. Now we just have to hope tomorrow morning the conditions are dry and we will try to get into the top 10,” added the Spaniard.

Marquez, who finished fifth in the Qatar MotoGP, is still adapting to his RC213V motorcycle. He admitted that the team made a few changes to the motorbike settings, especially in the second practice session.

In addition, Marquez also seemed to have problems with the rear tire and several times sliding. However, he stated it was more due to the character of the tires.

On the other hand, Espargaro who recorded the fastest time in the pre-season test last February, admitted to having problems in the front brake. Apart from that, nothing else is a problem.

“The bike is very comfortable both on medium or soft tires. But I had a problem with the front brake. This is a technical problem and it is very important to overcome it so it doesn’t happen again,” he explained. (Crashnety/OL-15)
