Today, Jokowi is scheduled to meet MotoGP racers at the Merdeka Palace

The MotoGP racers, who will take part in the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, 18-20 March, are scheduled to be welcomed by President Joko Widodo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, today, Wednesday (16/3).

After the audience, Jokowi will release the racers for the parade from and to the Merdeka Palace by crossing the HI Roundabout. This was stated by the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono.

« The President, tomorrow, will have an audience with the MotoGP riders who are competing in Mandalika. There are dozens of riders present and of course the names are already familiar to MotoGP fans, such as Marc Marquez, Joan Mir, Alex Rins, Francesco Bagnaia, Jack Miller, Maverick Vinales, Alex Marquez, and Takaaki Nakagami, » said Heru in an official statement, Tuesday (15/3).

« So, for tomorrow, the President will only have an audience and after that he will release the racers with their respective racing motorbikes. The President will not participate in the convoy, » he continued.

Dorna Sport, which is the holder of the commercial rights of MotoGP, stated that the presence of the racers in Jakarta before leaving for Mandalika was a form of appreciation for the hard work of the Indonesian Government in preparing the Indonesian MotoGP.

« This is the first year of 10 years of cooperation. Therefore, out of our respect, the drivers will meet President Joko Widodo tomorrow. We also thank you for your time, Mr President, » said Dorna Sports Chief Sporting Officer Carlos Ezpeleta.

Heru conveyed that a series of audience events between President Jokowi and the MotoGP racers would later be broadcast live through the official YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat.
