PRESIDENT Joko Widodo will hold an audience with a number of MotoGP racers at the Merdeka Palace on Wednesday (16/3) morning.
A number of big names, such as Marc Marquez, Alex Rins, Maverick Vinales, Francesco Bagnaia, Jack Miller and last year’s MotoGP champion, Joan Mir, were confirmed to be present at the meeting.
“The president tomorrow will have an audience with the MotoGP riders, who will compete in Mandalika. There were a dozen racers who attended and of course the names were familiar to MotoGP fans,” said Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Tuesday (15/3).

The racers are present with the motorbikes they will ride in the race. After the meeting ended, the Head of State was scheduled to release Marc Marquez and a number of others to carry out a convoy from the Presidential Palace to the HI Roundabout.
“So for tomorrow, the President will only have an audience. After that, releasing the racers with their respective racing motorbikes. The president did not participate in the convoy,” added Heru.
Understanding the public’s desire to witness the arrival of the asphalt champions, the Presidential Secretariat will broadcast the event live through the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account.

“For tomorrow’s event, we will broadcast live streaming through the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account starting at 09.30 WIB,” said Heru.
Meanwhile, Dorna Sports Chief Sporting Officer Carlos Ezpeleta explained that the presence of MotoGP racers in Jakarta was a form of appreciation for the government’s hard work in preparing MotoGP in Indonesia.
“This is the first year of 10 years of cooperation. As a tribute, the racers will meet with President Joko Widodo tomorrow. We also thank you for your time, Mr President,” concluded Ezpeleta. (OL-11)
