MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said tourism housing facilities (Sarhunta) in Sukadana Village, Central Lombok Regency, were sold out by the Mandalika MotoGP audience.
“Along with the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP event, the 300 sarhunta established by the government are 100% filled with visitors,” he said in an official statement, Sunday (20/3/2022).

Sandiaga said the sarhunta, which is managed by a resident of Sukadana Village named Happy, is one of the recipients of the CHSE certification (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment Sustainability) on March 11.
The purpose of granting the certification is to ensure that visiting tourists will be guaranteed the elements of cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability of the Sarhuntas in Central Lombok Regency and its surroundings.
Sandiaga then said that if the government built a hotel to provide accommodation for MotoGP spectators, the surrounding community would not feel the overall economic impact because only some of them got jobs.

“But if we build tourism housing facilities, there are people’s houses that are renovated to become sarhunta and 300-400 jobs can be absorbed,” he claimed. (Ins/A-3)
